Greg Koch

Greg Koch

Founder / Chairman, Stone Brewing

Greg Koch is executive chairman & co-founder of Stone Brewing. An avid craft beer enthusiast and world traveler, Koch can often be found among imbibers across the planet, enjoying and extolling the virtues of great beer.

David Walker

David Walker

Co-Founder / CEO, Firestone Walker Brewing Co.

David Walker founded Firestone Walker Brewing Company with Adam Firestone in 1996. Some years later, and after more right decisions than wrong, the brewery gained a solid foundation as one of California’s leading craft brewers. His earlier career developing businesses in the world of high tech did little to prepare David for the life of a brewer. He relies on a passion for pale ales, a bias for small enterprise and his brewing peers to help him understand the daily riddle of building a brewery.

Natalie Cilurzo

Natalie Cilurzo

Co-Owner / President, Russian River Brewing Co.

Natalie is the Co-Owner and President of Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa and Windsor, CA. She and her husband, Vinnie, acquired the brand, all beer names and recipes, and some equipment from Korbel Champagne Cellars in 2003 who opened the original brewery location in 1997. Prior to that she was involved at arms-length with Vinnie’s Blind Pig Brewing Company in Temecula and spent 19 years in the wine industry. Over the past 17 years, the couple have grown their business organically, while developing a strong consumer following for their hoppy ales and sour barrel-aged beers. Natalie has developed skills and experience in all things related to brewpub operations, working with wholesalers and accounts, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, Social Media and more. She is always an advocate for the craft beer industry particularly in areas of legal issues, such as bootlegging, protecting brand equity and intellectual property. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the California Craft Brewers Association, acting as Board President in 2016 and 2017. Natalie also sits on the Advisory Board for Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center.

In October 2018, she and Vinnie finished construction on their new dream brewery in Windsor, CA. She is an avid supporter of various non-profits and charitable fundraisers. Natalie and Vinnie spearheaded a major effort in 2017 raising over $1.1M for local fire victims with their Sonoma Pride beer. They launched another fundraising campaign in 2019 for local fire agencies after the Kincade Fire came dangerously close to their new Windsor brewery. Natalie is enthusiastic about giving back to the community, passionate about the craft beer industry, and thrives on helping others succeed.

Vinnie Cilurzo

Vinnie Cilurzo

Vinnie Cilurzo is co-owner with his wife Natalie of Russian River Brewing Company. Aside from their downtown Santa Rosa, CA brewpub, they also operate their production brewery and second pub in Windsor, CA. Here they have a 75 bbl brewhouse, a 5 bbl pilot brewery as well as six open top fermenters and a Koelschip for spontaneous, natural fermentations. In 2008 Vinnie was honored with the Brewers Association Russell Schehrer Award for Innovation in Brewing and in 2017 Vinnie and Natalie were honored with the Brewers Association Recognition Award.

Tim Sciascia

Tim Sciascia

Proprietor / Head Brewer, Cellarmaker Brewing Co.

Tim fell in love with craft beer attending house parties he was way too young for. He graduated from the New England Music Conservatory with a major in Classical Saxophone and quickly found a job in his hometown of Boston working for the Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams). He was no brewer though; a science degree was required, so instead he worked as a tour guide. This glimpse into the beer scene inspired him to try to dig deeper and get his foot in the door as a brewer. He headed out west with all of his belongings in a car and before he knew it he managed to get a job cleaning kegs at Marin Brewing Company. Working his way up the ranks at Marin Brewco he was making beers within a year. After 5 years of working at Marin Brewco, Tim was ready to start designing recipes of his own. Outside of the brewery Tim loves a good Negroni cocktail, a trip to Russian River Brewing Company and Steely Dan.

Chuck Silva

Chuck Silva

Co-Founder / Brewmaster, Silva Brewing Co.

Chuck Silva is an American Brewers Guild graduate who has spent 18 years brewing in San Diego (1998-2015) with the last 11 notably at Green Flash Brewing, well known for poignant hoppy beers, Belgian-inspired creations, barrel aged stout, wild ales and many more before moving on to ignite his very own passion project, Silva Brewing. Other breweries included in his San Diego tenure include Hang Ten Brewing Co., Hops! Bistro & Brewery, and Karl Strauss Brewing Co.

Chuck is currently operating Silva Brewing (established in 2015) with wife MJ in a small (3,000 sqft) Paso Robles facility with a 10bbl Brewhouse producing less than 1,000 bbls/year. Beer profiles range from fresh hop infused delights to uniquely wild ales like the latest release “ve va che”, convergent French & Belgian influenced styles, new versions of classic styles like Hefeweizen, Kolsch, Altbier, Smoked Porter and Pilsner, plus stouts that are barrel aged to perfection! Ever inspired, you will discover Chuck’s wine country influenced beers at Silva Brewing such as The Pink Stuff and new release The Bruewt. Not one to be idle on the creative front, Chuck and wife MJ are working on a new passion project, Amok Cellars, a winery operating in the same space as Silva Brewing. More fun creations to follow!

Kim Sturdavant

Kim Sturdavant

Head Brewer, Pacifica Brewery

Kim Sturdavant, head brewer at Pacifica Brewery, prides himself on brewing an array of styles ranging from modern hop forward beers, traditional lagers, historic farmhouse ales, and experimental, off the cusp things that defy categorization. His favorites express a vast array of flavor while still remaining approachable for easy enjoyment. He began his beer making journey in 2006 at Marin Brewing Company where he worked his way up to assistant brewer over the course of five years. From there he took the head brewer position at Social Kitchen & Brewery where he won two Great American Beer Festival Gold Medals (2015 & 2017) for his English Pale Ale called Mr. Kite's. While at Social, he also pioneered the Brut IPA beer style which was recreated all over the world and even brewed en masse by breweries as large as Sierra Nevada, Boston Beer Company, New Belgium and countless others. After traveling the US and Europe to explore breweries in 2019, he landed at Woods Beer and Wine Company where he headed brewing operations for the next 10 months refining their flagships, adding a few new staples, and diving deep into their rich Enobeer (beers made with wine grapes) program. He's excited to land at Pacifica Brewery and invites our guests to join him in the wonderful exploration of flavors in beer.

Alexandra Nowell

Alexandra Nowell

Director of Brewing Operations, Three Weavers Brewing Co.

Alexandra Nowell started her extensive brewing experience at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company by acquiring a paid internship at the Chico brewery. After a year in Chico she moved on to Moylan’s Brewing Company, where she dwelled in the cellar and cut her teeth on brewery production work. Drake’s picked up Alexandra in September of 2010 where she helped grow their brewing production over 100% in three years. At Drake’s, she was also responsible for their barrel aged program that’s still in place today. After a move down to Southern California, Alexandra became the Head Brewer at Kinetic Brewing located in Lancaster, California where she won two medals at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival. In 2013, she signed on with Three Weavers to build Inglewood’s first craft brewery. In 2020, Three Weavers won GABF medal for GABF for English Mild/Bitter.

Kelsey McNair

Kelsey McNair

Founder & Head Brewer, North Park Beer Co.

Kelsey discovered his love for brewing after his wife (girlfriend at the time) gave him a Mr. Beer homebrew kit for Christmas in 2003. Already a self-proclaimed hophead beer nerd, it only took one batch brewed for him to endlessly daydream about one day opening a brewery. The basic equipment was quickly replaced with stainless steel kettles, conical fermenters, and all the temperature control a brewer could ask for. He made great friendships with brewers, joined the best homebrew club in the nation (QUAFF), and armed himself with a BJCP Judge certification. Competitions were entered for feedback, but the medals followed and his Hop-Fu! IPA became the single most award-winning beer in the history of the National Homebrew Competition. A win at a competition hosted by Stone Brewing in 2010 earned him the opportunity to scale up his then innovative Session IPA from 15 gallons to several hundred barrels, which was packaged and distributed to 20 states. Seeing his beer being enjoyed around the country fueled his desire to get a brewery open. After a long and challenging search for investment capital and the right location, Kelsey with the help of his wife Amanda, opened North Park Beer Co. in 2016, located in its namesake urban neighborhood in San Diego. Today, his 15 barrel brewery and taproom cans 2 or 3 new beers per week with a focus on all styles of IPA, traditional and contemporary lagers, fruited kettle sours, and decadent barrel-aged stouts. When not focused on all things beer, Kelsey enjoys hanging out with his wife & daughter, historic home restoration, playing guitar or bass, pizza making, and other culinary adventures.

Jonas Nemura

Jonas Nemura

President, Radiant Brewing Co.

After studying industrial and labor relations at Cornell University and a brief stint in the legal world, Jonas Nemura found his passion in the world of craft beer. Starting through self-study, homebrewing and sampling at New York City’s great beer bars, his first commercial exposure was helping out at a real ale pub in New Zealand. He joined The Bruery out of Orange County, CA, in its infancy, helping to build it into an internationally recognized pioneer in specialty craft beer during his nearly 10-year tenure. He then took a more local focus while growing Chapman Crafted Beer throughout California and the West Coast. When a brewing facility in his neighborhood became available, Jonas jumped at the chance to reunite some former colleagues to create a vision of their own.

Shaun O'Sullivan

Shaun O'Sullivan

Co-Founder / President / Brewmaster, 21s Amendment Brewery

Shaun is the 21st Amendment Brewmaster and co-founder with Nico Freccia. He manages and oversees brewing operations and innovation. Shaun started his brewing beginnings at the Triple Rock Brewery in Berkeley, California and also in San Francisco at Steelhead Brewery and 20 Tank Brewery. Prior to brewing, Shaun was a photojournalist for a local weekly in Los Angeles shooting political and punk rock club photographs and was once offered a position in the kitchen at Chez Panisse in Berkeley. He worked as a producer for Cable News Network and as a corporate law clerk at a large New York law firm’s office in Los Angeles. Back then he was in the process of going through the hoops and hurdles of applying to either business school or law school when he jumped ship, traded in his suits for boots and was saved by beer! Hallelujah. He enjoys being a father to his amazing son, loves to travel (does a lot of that) and has a penchant for cooking. Shaun graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in psychology.

Dave McLean

Dave McLean

Co-Founder / Brewer, Admiral Maltings

Dave McLean fell in love with beer and brewing in the late 80s while in college in Boston and has never looked back. He moved to San Francisco in 1991 (to see more Grateful Dead shows) and began brewing obsessively and hatching a plan to start a brewery. He went through the UC Davis Master Brewers Program in 1993-94, where Dr. Michael Lewis instilled in him a love for malt. Dave opened Magnolia Pub & Brewery in San Francisco's Haight Ashbury district in 1997, focusing on English-influenced ales, especially cask-conditioned versions, and locally sourced, farm-to-table food. He started Alembic Bar, also in The Haight, in 2006, to explore the world of craft cocktails and spirits. In 2014, Magnolia expanded to a production brewery and BBQ restaurant, Smokestack, in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood. Most recently, Dave partnered with longtime fellow SF brewer, Ron Silberstein, and Curtis Davenport to launch Admiral Maltings in Alameda. Admiral is the first new malting facility in CA of the modern craft beer era and works with California farmers to produce locally-grown, floor-malted grain for California brewers and distillers. Along the way, Dave co-founded the San Francisco Brewers Guild and SF Beer Week and has helped organize beer programs at events such as Slow Food Nation, Outside Lands and the Good Food Awards.
